Voicemail drop
A prepared voice message left in a voicemail inbox, with the delivery method specified because a rep-triggered message and a ringless delivery are different workflows.
Use this definition in team training or when clarifying a sales note.
Definition
Voicemail drop describes the message and its delivery method. A rep may select a prepared message after reaching a voicemail greeting; another system may attempt delivery without an ordinary ringing call. Name the method when documenting it rather than assuming every tool uses the term the same way.
A prerecorded message does not avoid the rules that govern the call. 47 CFR 64.1200 addresses covered artificial or prerecorded voice calls, consent and identification. Ask counsel to assess the actual method, recipient and purpose. This is general information, not legal advice.
Why it matters
Write down whether the message was attempted, accepted by a mailbox or heard by a person. Those are different observations. A voicemail event does not establish a live conversation or a booked meeting, and a delivery log cannot show that the recipient listened.
