Unsold follow-up

The ongoing contact process for customers who showed interest or visited but did not buy.

Unsold follow-up covers everyone still in play: phone inquiries that did not set, appointments that did not show, and visitors who left without buying. Effective follow-up changes the offer at each touch, providing new information rather than repeating a check-in.

A cadence usually mixes text and calls over several weeks, then ends with a direct question about whether the customer is still looking.

Why it matters for a sales manager

Most stores stop after two or three attempts, and most of those attempts say the same thing. Since customers often shop over weeks rather than days, disciplined follow-up with something new to say reaches people while they are still deciding.
