No-show recovery

The contact made right after a missed appointment, while the customer still remembers agreeing to come in.

Recovery starts almost immediately. The first attempt is a call shortly after the missed time, with a reason that is not an accusation: checking whether something came up, confirming the vehicle is still being held. If nobody answers, a short text follows and a second attempt goes out later the same day.

The goal is one thing only, which is a new specific time. A recovery contact that ends with the customer saying they will call back has restarted nothing. Offer two times, the way the original appointment should have been set.

Why it matters for a sales manager

A no-show is not a rejection. Something usually got in the way, and the customer often feels a small obligation for an hour or two afterward, which is the best contact window you will get with them all week. Stores that treat missed appointments as dead leads throw away customers who told you exactly what they wanted and when they could come.
