Price given without an appointment.
A price, payment or discount is quoted and the conversation ends without a day and time to come see the vehicle.
"We could probably do around four hundred a month on that one."
What it sounds like. Synthetic example. Why it matters
A number with no visit attached leaves the store with nothing to work and gives the shopper something to carry to the next call. The rep usually feels like they did a good job, because they were direct and helpful, and the board is still empty at the end of the shift. This is the gap that makes a phone floor look strong on tone and weak on results.
What to do next
Answer the price question honestly, then attach the visit in the same breath: explain what the figure depends on, offer two times, and hold the vehicle for the appointment so the time has value. If the number has already gone out, call back with the piece that was missing, such as the trade figure or the fees, and use it as the reason to set the time.
How to coach it
Play the ten seconds after the number was said. In most of these calls the conversation ends right there, and the rep hears it immediately. The change is one habit, that every figure is followed by a time, and it is easy to check in a handful of calls the following week.

Questions about this signal
Are reps supposed to refuse price questions?
No. Dodging the question costs trust. Answer it, explain what the number depends on, and follow it with two specific times.
What if the customer only wants a number?
Give them what is honest, then make the visit worth something concrete, such as the appraisal and the vehicle ready when they arrive.
How do I see this across the team?
Review the marked quote moments by person and listen to what follows each number. A shared habit shows up fast.
