Internet sales manager

The manager responsible for digital leads, online inquiries and the team that answers them before a customer arrives.

An internet sales manager owns the online side of the funnel: third-party leads, website inquiries, chat, listing site messages and often text follow-up. The role covers response time, message quality, appointment setting and the handoff to the floor.

In smaller stores the job is combined with the BDC or with a sales desk role. In larger ones it is a distinct position with its own team and reporting.

Why it matters for a sales manager

Digital leads are bought at a real cost per lead, and their value evaporates quickly when nobody answers with something useful. Someone has to own the speed and substance of that first reply, or the store is paying for opportunities that a competitor answers first.
